Bulog Dos Island in Coron is one of the most exotic islands in the Philippines. Its popularity has risen over the years, thanks primarily to Instagram and YouTube, where you see gorgeous photos and videos pop up on your newsfeed every so often.

Indeed, traveling to Coron is a once in a lifetime experience for those who dream of a paradise-like vacation. This beautiful island in Palawan is famous for its stunning lagoons, snorkeling and diving spots, majestic limestone rocks, and secluded islands like Bulog Dos Island.

Bulog Dos Island is one of many exotic and secluded islands you will discover in Coron with sugary soft white sands and pristine aquamarine waters.

The beautiful island is a usual stop on our island hopping tours before lunch on a neighboring island, Banana Island. Out of my several travels to Coron in the past few years, I always look forward to this part of the tour because of how beautiful this island is.

The stunning Bulog Dos Island has it all: sugary white sands, crystal clear waters, and stunning sand bar that is perfect for those who have a drone.

I particularly enjoy coming to Bulog Dos Island because it is usually empty with tourists considering its distance from the main island and other popular sites in Coron.

Where is Bulog Dos Island?

Bulog dos island palawan

Bulog Dos Island is a compact island linked by a sand spit in the Bulacao Island region. The island is just south of Busuanga Island, where most of the hotels and restaurants are located, and southwest of Coron Island, where you will find many of the popular destinations in Coron.

The journey to Bulog Dos Island can take a while to get there. It takes about one and a half-hour boat ride from Busuanga Island to Bulog Dos Island – so we suggest to plan your day accordingly!

Below is a map of Bulog Dos Island, so you have a better idea of its location compared to the rest of the islands.

How to Get to Bulog Dos Island

The easiest and most efficient way to get to Bulog Dos Island is by an outrigger boat.

You have two options, either hire a private boat or join a Coron island hopping tour. The main advantage of hiring a private boat is that you have complete control of your itinerary, although the price can be a little bit more than joining a group tour. The last time we hired a private boat to Bulog Dos Island, we spent over 5,000 PHP (about $100 USD) for seven people. The price will come down to the number of passengers and the type of boat you hire.

Otherwise, you may join an island hopping tour to Bulog Dos Island. You may book the Coron Island Escapade Tour with Klook with a stop to Bulog Dos Island. The total price of the tour is 1500 PHP, or about $30 USD.

Below is the rest of the itinerary with Coron Island Escapate:

– Enjoy a laid back tour as you discover Coron’s best beaches: Malcapuya Island, Banana Island, and Bulog Dos Island
– Stroll along the powdery white sands of the Malcapuya Island and snorkel to admire its coral reef
– Spend some time basking in the relaxing atmosphere of Banana Island and learn how it got its quirky name
– Get a breathtaking view of neighboring islands and the surrounding azure waters when you visit Bulog Dos Island

What to Do in Bulog Dos Island

Swim – Bulog Dos Island has some of the most pristine waters you’ll see in Coron. Although the water is transparent, there aren’t many corals in the area. But I still enjoyed swimming around here, because the water was warm and shallow throughout, which is perfect for those who may not be the best swimmers (like me!)

Enjoy the Sandbar – The stunning sandbar at Bulog Dos Island accentuates the beauty of this island. It’s a perfect island to drone and takes pictures considering this island is not as crowded as some of the other tourist spots in Coron!

Relax – I mentioned earlier that Bulog Dos Island is not the most crowded island you’ll visit in Coron. I particularly enjoy picking a corner on this island to listen to music and lay down, sunbathe, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
