For the sixth consecutive year, Singapore’s Changi International airport has been named the world’s best airport at the annual World Airport Awards in Sweden. These prestigious awards are based on 13 million airport survey questionnaires submitted by over 100 different nationalities of airline passengers between August 2017 and February 2018.

This should be no surprise for anyone who’s set foot in Changi Airport.

It’s hard to compete with an airport that has a long list of amenities that include TWO 24-hour theaters showing the latest Hollywood hits, a rooftop swimming pool, two dozen lounges, and a place to relax in its on-site sunflower garden (because why not?)

And it goes without saying that this airport, for the lack of a better description, is really pretty.

But Singapore’s international airport is about to get even prettier come 2019 with the unveiling of Jewel Changi Airport. This project will cost more than $1 billion to build, and at its completion will feature 300 dining and retail facilities spread across ten stories and 1.44 million square feet of floor space.
