Dar Dadicilef Bed and Breakfast Review – Chefchaouen, Morocco
Probably one of the most memorable #accomodations I’ve stayed at. I didn’t do much research on where to stay in #Chefchaouen before getting there. I figured I was just going to wing it as I go.
Before leaving Tangier, I was given recommendations by the staff of the hotel I stayed at – and they suggested Dar Dadicilef. I immediately googled this place and was sold the moment I saw the first five pictures of the hotel and the room.
Read below:
NEIGHBORHOOD/LOCATION:
Right in the heart of the Medina where you are literally in the epicenter of shops, restaurants, and the maze-like narrow streets of the Blue City.
Security:
Chefchaouen is safe – there wasn’t a moment where I felt something could potentially happen, unlike in Tangier or Marrakech.
But for the room itself, they give you a pad lock for your room.
STAFF:
Very nice people and very accommodating.- Abdul, the manager, took the time to help me out on my troubles of trying to get a bus ticket back to Tangier. I was trying to leave Chefchaouen on the day of a religious holiday where basically the whole country is shut down.
ATMOSPHERE:
The design, architecture, décor is very Moroccan. The colors of the interior are also all in blue – you really feel like you are in some exotic location the entire time you are in the hotel.
CLEANLINESS:
Not a trace of dirt anywhere.
FACILITIES:
Each room has a different size bathroom, and mine was a perfect size for a single traveler.
My only comment would be the lack of ventilation. There is no AC, but perhaps a ceiling fan would suffice.
They also have a rooftop/terrace where you can just lounge after a long day of exploring Chefchaouen!
THE SPACE:
Spacious!! I had a single room but could have easily been for two people and there would still be ample space for everyone.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
This was such a great value – 300 Dirhams (which is about $30 USD) a night with breakfast included – and you really get that authentic Moroccan experience. I can’t recommend this place enough.
